Swayed gently by the motion of the wind, these chromatic spheres contain the colors of their environment as if they had absorbed and transformed all the light and the hues which surround them. The installation produces an unconventional representation of nature and the landscape, playing with themes typically associated with painting – such as color and form, as well as questions of reality and depiction. The sphere shape evokes the idea of planets, the moon and biological cells, shifting from the nano to micro and macro scale.

Previous projects by the artist have been titled after names associated with hurricanes and storms. The title, Out / Élodie, is the first name given to a spectrograph, a scientific instrument used to measure properties of light. It was this invention which made it possible to discover the first exoplanet and the sun, as well as to transcribe the acoustic resonance of a star.
