In today’s troubled world, where conflicts escalate and echo chambers intensify, the need for communication and understanding is acute.
Contact is the very foundation of our civilization. It represents not just the exchange of information, but the deep connection that arises through communication, emotions, and shared experiences – both between individuals and between cultures and nations. Open contact is the key to bringing us closer, accepting our differences, building bridges, and creating community.
We see Fjord Oslo as a tool for creating togetherness through light art. Art has a unique power to break down barriers, unite people across differences, and promote understanding through experiences and reflection. While art can challenge us with complex questions, it can also inspire and guide us toward deeper insight and understanding.
Therefore, we have invited artists and the public to reflect on the theme of CONTACT at Fjord Oslo 2024 with the hope of contributing to a more harmonious world.
